Developing co-ordination

The photographs celebrate our strong progress in developing our skills in co-ordination from EYFS to Year 6.  Co-ordination is a fundamental skill for success in physical education, from balance and running to batting and fielding skills. Year 2 are developing the passing skills taught in EYFS by  learning different throwing styles. They are continuing to improve their hand-eye co-ordination by passing back and forth accurately with a partner. 

Netball in Year 3

Putting the throwing styles into practice, Year 3 are learning to play netball. As well as increasing the challenge on the accuracy of their coordination, they are expanding their capacity to run and jump with control.

Core strength and balance in Year 6

Year 6 have been showcasing their core strength to devise group balanced tableaus in gymnastics. They worked as a team to carefully co-ordinate their individual balances to create a cohesive and supportive group piece.
