This term, we focused on distinguishing between real and misleading information online, honing source evaluation skills, reporting inappropriate content online and emphasising accurate referencing. This has fostered digital engagement, cultivating a credible online presence for our pupils.

Realising Facts VS Fiction Online - EYFS

In EYFS, students have actively participated in activities that involve recognising real and imaginary information displayed on digital devices. Through engaging experiences, they are beginning to understand that some information is real, while others are pretend. These early lessons have helped them to distinguish between different types of information that can be encountered in the digital world.

Internet Safety - Year 1

Building on their EYFS learning, students in Year 1 have learned to distinguish between real and fake information online, establishing a foundation for their computing lessons. This understanding helps them use the internet responsibly. They are starting to think carefully before interacting with content, building their digital skills and laying the groundwork for more advanced computing learning.

Conducting Oneself When Online - Year 4

In Year 4, students have learned to identify, flag and report inappropriate content online. This focus on digital awareness and responsibility has equipped them for safe online navigation and improved their judgement in their interactions and activities on the internet. Their responsible online behaviour have empowered them to not only safeguard themselves but also to contribute to making the internet a much safer space for everyone.

Discerning Facts from Fiction Online - Year 6

In Year 6, students have built on their digital skills by learning to reference and acknowledge sources from the internet. Building on their Year 4 learning, the emphasis on responsible online behaviour now includes sourcing. This skill has improved their digital awareness and made them aware of the significance of honest internet interactions.
