Art Enriching Education
Children have used drawing as a tool to engage with their current curriculum topics, allowing them to visualize and deepen their understanding of the subjects they are studying. Through these drawing activities, students have developed their artistic skills and also strengthened their ability to recall and reflect on the information they are learning, making abstract concepts more tangible and memorable.
Designing New Transport - Reception
Reception have been learning about modes of transport. They designed their own modes of transports by sketching and planning the materials they would use to make their models. They made models using recycled materials linking their art and design technology skills.
Artistic Analysis - Year 1
In Year 1, the children used images of dinosaurs to create their own 2D version. They used simple shapes like circles, triangles, and rectangles and focused on different parts like sharp teeth or long necks. This approach made it easier for them to see how dinosaurs were put together and helped them remember what they’ve learned so far about these amazing creatures.
Material Historical - Year 4
Year 4 students have created carbon-printed posters inspired by the historical Frost Fairs. They began by studying the work of Charles Payne and thoughtfully selected complementary colours for their designs. Through the design process, they produced collages and ultimately crafted historically accurate pieces.
Perfecting the Print - Year 6
Year 6 have been showcasing their printing skills. They began by designing tiles in their books and evaluating their ideas. After making adjustments, they transferred their designs onto foam printing tablets and used printing ink to create their final pieces.
