Beginner Athletics - Nursery

Nursery have been learning skills in athletics this term.  They have been learning to use resources such as hoops and bean bags to support them in their learning.  Children have been carrying out their own races and creating their own challenges such as shooting a ball through a tyre.  This culminated in their sports morning and afternoons where parents were invited in to attempt the challenges with their children.

Teamwork and Athletism - KS1

Years 1 and 2 have been practising their athletics this term.  Pupils have been learning the art of relay and working together as a team.  They have been harnessing their skills in agility, speed and balance in order to quicken their pace in races.  Their efforts were rewarded in the end of year sports day where they participated in a number of events to showcase their skills

SPORTS DAY - LKS2

Years 3 and 4 have been learning skills in athletics this term in preparation for the end of term sports day.  They have been learning to harness their skills in sprinting and how they can perfect their styles.  Making sure to face forward and to drive off their front leg for example.  Their hard work paid off in their end of year sports day where they were able to show what they had learnt

Encouraging Leadership - UKS2

Years 5 and 6 have also been showcasing their talents in athletics this half term.  A notable difference for year 6 has been their challenge to become leaders in their sports/events.  Showing others how to harness their skills and modeling to others.  This resulted in the end of year sports day where pupils led events, demonstrations and played a key role in the day.
